"...tell this mountain to get up..." Mark 11:23-24

It is the faith that God has placed within us that drives us forward, we really don’t have the ability to trust God from our own desires because we are by nature pragmatic, we want cause and effect results.

When God places faith within a man or woman there is a transaction that takes place, that transaction is an impartation of the very nature of God himself, it is relational, we call it faith.  Faith is the confidence and trust in what we cannot see with our eyes but there is an inner knowing with our spirit that God will accomplish what He has set out to do.

There are many mountains which challenge us in our life path which need to be overcome, Jesus has already won the victory over every enemy which asserts itself as having power over the finished work of Christ.  We must recognize that Jesus is not fighting the battles anymore, He is sitting on His throne at the right hand of the Father and resting, He has handed off His victory to us.
Amazingly we aren’t to engage in the ‘fight’ either, but we are also to rest by declaring and standing in the truth of what was finished on the cross to every enemy and every mountain which could ever challenge us.  That declaration is that King Jesus is victorious over all.

What is your mountain?  Does it seem impossible?  The truth is ‘the bigger the mountain the greater the victory’ to demonstrate God’s glory, it only takes the faith that resides within us to be activated to begin the process of moving forward.  We can tell those mountains to get up and jump into the sea and they will obey us when we stand with confidence in the faith we have been given in Christ.

What is a mountain in this case?  It can be anything that stands in the way of your victory in Jesus.  See Romans 8:35-37 (CEV)  Do you need more proof?

"Children, you belong to God, and you have defeated these enemies. God’s Spirit is in you and is more powerful than the one that is in the world. These enemies belong to this world, and the world listens to them, because they speak its language." 1 John 4:4-5 (CEV)

Notice that the word above ‘defeated’ is in the past tense, everything that Jesus has given us by way of His victory on the cross is in the past tense, our faith is made ‘active’ (present tense) when we stand in (or rest in) confidence and appropriate the victory over every enemy by faith.

We are overcomers in Christ Jesus over every chain, every fear, every sickness, every doubt.  We are given an anthem of love to sing which the Lord’s battle cry in this life:

“Every giant will fall, the mountains will move, every chain of the past you’ve broken in two.  Over fear of the lies we’re singing the truth, and nothing is impossible with you.”  (Lyrics from 'Every giant will fall' by the Rend Collective)

God wants to show His strength in our weakness and develop our spiritual muscles of faith in trusting and resting in Him.

"Everything is finished! I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will freely give water from the life-giving fountain to everyone who is thirsty. All who win the victory will be given these blessings. I will be their God, and they will be my people." Revelation 21:6-7 (CEV)

King Jesus has given us victory in every way possible as long as we place our complete confidence in Him to be our Victor in everything that comes our way.  We are more than overcomers, we are champions, conquerors in the faith of Jesus.

Be Blessed;
Stephen Barnett
