“Give thanks to the Lord! Call for him to help you!..." - Isaiah 12:4-6

Expressing thankfulness to the Lord for He is great amongst all the things He has done, and considering all of the things He has created at times can at times take our breath away.  The utter beauty of the Lord is staggering when you consider that all of His creation declares His beauty.  We serve a God who loves His creation, and we are part of that creation. He desires to meet with us and fulfill our needs on a daily basis.  Lamentations 3:22-23 says that because of God’s faithfulness His mercies are renewed to us every morning.

How could we not tell others about how the Lord has blessed us and brought us closer to Himself, that alone is good news which we can share.  We have trusted the Father to surround us with His love and He has reached out to us and become our surety when the difficulties of life challenge us to doubt His help, His faithfulness to us steadfast and unchanging.

When we sing to the Lord it becomes our testimony of faith and affection to the Lord’s ability to hear us through the noise of this world and respond to us in creative ways which at times may defy the logical explanation.  The Father demonstrates plainly that He is clearly above our distractions and expectations to meet us at a level which not only meets our need but is much more than we could ever ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20)

Our song becomes our declaration of victory and it pleases the Father to know that we extol Him and recognize His benefits.

Because Christ resides within us we have God’s power to overcome the total onslaught of Satan’s power which tries us and tempts us with doubt, worry, and fear.  We can stand with the assured confidence of victory knowing that God’s power is enough to bring us through every situation, and with His power, we conquer Satan’s attacks with truth which stands tall and overpowers our enemy with the Lord’s strong presence, for He is truth itself.

Our response is to call upon the name of the Lord when we are in times of trouble and wait for His rescue.  Waiting (or resting) upon the Lord has become a lost art in our day, few pastors preach on this topic or teach that waiting on the Lord is a valid position to take.  We have been spoon fed the belief by this “instant gratification” generation that we need immediate results, but that is not the Lord’s promise, His promise is for us to rest and trust in Him that He will come and bring His victory in our lives in His perfect timing.

The other thing that is often overlooked in this passage is shouting to the Lord.  Shouting, in this case, is not out of anger, but out of victory!  Yes, we can thank Him for His manifold blessings, but there is also the shout which comes from our innermost being declaring the victories of our God and King.

There is great pleasure and release that comes from shouting to the Lord His victories and His praise.  It releases strength in the spirit and bolsters our resolve that our God is over all things.
The enemy also takes notice when we shout to the Lord, he trembles at the sound of our shouting victory because he cannot stand in the presence of truth.

We have so many great promises given to us so that we are a rich people, rich with the blessings of God.
Be Blessed;
