Seated in Heavenly Places

            Ephesians 2: 4-10 (NASB)
But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead [f]in our transgressions, made us alive together [g]with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.  For by grace you have been saved through faith; and [h]that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

We are sent as ambassadors of Christ!  What an incredible position to hold.  We represent the King who is seated in the heavens.  We see the majesty and splendor of His Kingdom and how this King of love has reached down from this lofty place and chose us to be with Him and share in the glory of His kingdom. Really, it is too incredible for words.  But that is the beauty of it, we have brought nothing to the table to negotiate with God for Him consider us in the position other than our bankrupt lives.

Judges  6: 12-16 (NASB)
The angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, “The Lord is with you, O valiant warrior.” Then Gideon said to him, “O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian.” The Lord [a]looked at him and said, “Go in this your strength and deliver Israel from the hand of Midian. Have I not sent you?”  He said to Him, “O Lord, [b]how shall I deliver Israel? Behold, my family is the least in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father’s house.” But the Lord said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall [c]defeat Midian as one man.

God sees us from our position in Him, not from our bankrupt state.  God declares His purpose through us.

There are so many times I have given way to my fears and my past failures which have resulted in me not willingly participating in the work the Lord would have me do.  These have been my testing grounds, places where my failure has been met with grace and deep compassion from the Lord.  This is also the place where He tells me ‘who I am’, and that I am valuable, and have been bought with a price.  God sees me from my position in Him.  I am a valiant warrior in Him, because He says so!

God has my life script already written so that I would walk in it.  I do have confidence knowing that God knew what I would do as His ambassador way beforehand, it was already prepared for me to walk in.  God is so good.  He knew me, better than I know myself.

Who Would Not Love You

A God of love
Is what you are to me
A greater friend
No one could ever be
In holiness born of
Your spirit’s touch
Through never ending love
You give so much

Who would not love you
Who would not cherish you
Who would not serve you all their days
Who would not praise you
Who would not honor you
Who would not die for you
Who would not love you

A Father’s love
Is what you give to me
A guiding hand
A light so I could see
In knowing you
I’ve found my heart’s desire
In loving you
I’ve touched your holy fire
