Healing Streams

Ezekiel 47 1-6 (GWT)
Then the man took me back to the door of the temple. I saw water flowing from under the entrance of the temple toward the east. (The temple faced east.) The water was flowing under the south side of the temple, south of the altar.  Then he led me through the north gate and around to the outer east gate. The water was flowing down the south side of the gate.
With a measuring line in his hand, the man went eastward. He measured off a third of a mile and led me through the water. The water came up to my ankles. Then he measured off another third of a mile and led me through the water. The water came up to my knees. He measured off another third of a mile and led me through the water. The water came up to my waist. Then he measured another third of a mile. But the water had risen so much that it became a river which I couldn’t cross. The river was too deep to cross except by swimming.  Then he asked me, “Son of man, do you see this?”

(A very interesting question arises, can one be in the middle of the flow of the healing streams of God and not realize it?  Ezekiel didn’t see it, even though he was in it…the Lord even had to ask him “…do you see this?”)

I awoke this morning pondering why the Healing Streams flow for some and not for others.  I asked the Lord this question, not really expecting an answer, but He did answer in a way I had not expected.  He answered me in the form of question “Are you ready for the Healing Streams to flow through you?”  (There was a picture in my mind of a man standing before his peers and a huge torrent of water burst forth from his abdomen, the people (his peers) standing beside him were amazed and shocked and angry at the display of water coming out from this man.)  The Lord continued speaking “The flow will be a disrupting flow…are you ready for it?”  I stood there before the Lord not really knowing how to respond.  (After all, how do you respond to someone who knows you better than you know yourself.)  I responded with “you know Lord, better than I do”

Revelation 22:1-2 (GWT)
The angel showed me a river filled with the water of life, as clear as crystal. It was flowing from the throne of God and the lamb. Between the street of the city and the river there was a tree of life visible from both sides. It produced 12 kinds of fruit. Each month had its own fruit. The leaves of the tree will heal the nations.

(When God speaks of Nations He is speaking of people groups and not governments or authorities.  the healing stream is a disruptive stream, it disrupts the established order.)

I do not know where this will take me, but I feel like a kid on a inner tube rafting down a river carried by the power and force of the current.  God has already established the flow in all of us through His work of salvation and the infilling of the Holy Spirit.

John 7:38-39 (GWT)
As Scripture says, ‘Streams of living water will flow from deep within the person who believes in me.’” Jesus said this about the Spirit, whom his believers would receive. The Spirit was not yet evident, as it would be after Jesus had been glorified.

Have you seen this?

Lord, I desire only one thing and that is to be obedient to you.  May I both see and respond to you and the flow of your spirit through me as you bring others into my thoughts and prayers.  May your kingdom be extended and the boundaries of that kingdom reach into the lives of the people I encounter during my day.  That you may show yourself strong by bringing healing and restoration, and thereby bring glory to your name.  May your healing streams flow!  You are so good   –  there is none like you!

No One Like You

There's no one like you in all the earth
There's no one like you in the heavens
There's no one like you who knows my weakness
Who knows my frailty and my desire...

(chorus 1)
Is to know you all my days
Is to know you as my Savior
Is to know you in your beauty
In your power and your glory
There's no one like you, No one
There's no one like you, No one

There's no one like you in all the earth
There's no one like you in the heavens
There's no one like you who sings so sweetly
Who shines so brightly and is so holy

(chorus 2)
And I will praise you all my days
I will praise you as my Savior
I will praise you in your beauty
In your power and your glory
There's no one like you, No one
There's no one like you, No one
