Thank you Lord - I worship you!

Colossians 1: 19-20 (NASB)
For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.

Why did Jesus come to earth to die?  This question came up recently, and was answered quite aptly.   Jesus came to reconcile all things to Himself.  Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary of the English Language defines reconcile this way:
“ …to call back into union and friendship the affections which have been alienated; to restore to friendship or favor after estrangement….”

Jesus restored relationship between us and the Father through Him and His sacrifice on the cross.  That alone is amazing, but it doesn’t stop there.  It further states that “…all things were reconciled to Himself” in other words all things are made right.

Colossians 1:13-18 (GWT)
God has rescued us from the power of darkness and has brought us into the kingdom of his Son, whom he loves. His Son paid the price to free us, which means that our sins are forgiven. He is the image of the invisible God,
the firstborn of all creation.
He created all things in heaven and on earth,
        visible and invisible.
Whether they are kings or lords,
                rulers or powers—
everything has been created through him and for him.
He existed before everything
        and holds everything together.
He is also the head of the church, which is his body.
    He is the beginning,
the first to come back to life
so that he would have first place in everything.

One could get the impression after reading the above passage that God had this planned out from the beginning that Jesus is King not only Heaven, but of the earth.  This is also written in the present tense.  I do believe in scripture and the scripture states these things to be true.   These things need to be worked out through a personal walk with Jesus , allowing his love and mercy to be expressed to us and through us as we encounter the environment in which we spend our daily lives, whether at work, at home or in the marketplace.

John 1: 1-5 (GWT)
In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was already with God in the beginning.
Everything came into existence through him. Not one thing that exists was made without him.
He was the source of life, and that life was the light for humanity.
The light shines in the dark, and the dark has never extinguished it.

Jesus holds everything together, from our lives to all of creation itself.  He has always been and will always be GOD.  Lord Jesus,Thank you for my salvation!

It Has Always Been You

(Randy Butler, Terry Butler)

It has always been You
You have always been
Kingdoms rise and fall
Yours will never end

It has always been you
Before the world began
You chose us as Your own
And before You now we stand

We honor You, esteem You
We place You at the center
In all of life we defer to Your rule and reign

It has always been You
It will always be You
And it’s You here and now we adore
